Importance of back links in SEO services

The importance of back links is enormous. Google uses this as a parameter to evaluate or at least as an indicator as to the quality of your content. It gives so much attention to this inbound links or back links.

This giving of importance can be measured by the very fact that in 2005 Google has filed a patent application based on search technology based on back linking. But the main and foremost important thing is getting quality back links and not a bunch of inbound links.Quality back links or inbound links are very crucial factor for higher search engine rankings and webmasters and online publishers employ various methods legitimate or illegitimate to get back links.

At first look at the factor why back links are important in search engine optimization. Actually these links are like a voting system and they make the search engine know how much people respect the opinion. Higher the popularity scale, higher the number of back links. They are like voting for you. If lots of people link to your web pages, using anchor text appropriate to your theme, this is taken as validation of your content. The logic is: why would people link to you unless you have something valuable to offer? Exactly for this reason it is considered as a measure of popularity.

PPC -Pay Per Click

Pay per click (PPC) is an internet advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content sites, such as blogs, in which advertisers pay their host only when their ad is clicked.
With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market. Content sites commonly charge a fixed price per click rather than use a bidding system.

Five things which we can’t do with PPC Campaign.

1) DON’T include your chosen keywords in the ad title.
2) DON’T make your ad title interesting or relevant.
3) DON’T use short words.
4) DON’T be targeted and meaningful.
5) DON’T test your ad copy or your landing page.

Bing best for SEO keyword research

Search newcomer Bing might offer the best tools on the market when it comes to highlighting current search trends, it has been suggested.

According to Erick Schonfeld of TechCrunch, Bing’s xRank feature seems to outperform Google Trends for displaying the most up-to-date trends in search queries, information that may aid companies’ search engine optimisation campaigns.

While Google Trends has a three-day lag on all keywords except the most popular ones, xRank is able to display information that is current as of today, he comments.

For example, conducting a search for golfer Ricky Barnes yesterday on xRank shows that web users prompted a spike in queries for the sportsman after leading the US Open over the weekend.

However, Google Trends had no data for the search as of yesterday.

“One feature where Microsoft seems to be edging out Google is with displaying recent search trends,” Mr Schonfeld commented.

“This may not be a major feature, but it shows a weakness in Google’s armour.”

Bing accounted for 12.1 per cent of US search results pages in its second week, up from 9.1 per cent in the week prior to its official launch, according to comScore.

Fresh content for SEO ’should be consistent’

Online marketing professionals should ensure that all content they publish to their sites for search engine optimisation (SEO) or social media purposes is as consistent as possible.

This is according to Adam Singer of the Online Marketing Blog, who urged firms to engage in consistent content publishing without making sacrifices when it comes to quality to take advantage of potential extra “entry points” from search engine listings.

The key to this is agility, he said, recommending that companies think like a new media firm to ensure they are able to quickly adapt to the expanding social web.

“As the supply of content increases, the aggregate amount of attention available remains static, meaning the fight for attention is an aggressive, daily battle across the spectrum of niches,” Mr Singer commented.

Businesses using online news to enhance SEO efforts should use keywords in meta title tags and URLs and ensure all of their news articles each have a unique URL, according to comments made by Danny Sullivan of Search Engine Land at the KDMC News Entrepreneur Boot Camp last month.

SEO Ranking Factors for 2009

Search Engine Marketing and SEO have always been very dynamic fields.  Search engines make changes all of the time.  Sometime they announce their changes, sometimes we are left to guess at them.  In either event, more often than not, we are left  largely to our own devices in terms of assessing the impact of these changes and what to do about them – if anything.

This makes sessions related to ranking factors pretty popular at shows like SMX Advanced.  This year was no exception and I was able to get a few minutes with one of this years speakers, Rand Fishkin, to chat about the state of SEO ranking factors.

One of the more interesting things Rand and I agreed on was the fact that it’s 2009 and a lot of today’s fundamental ranking factors, are very similar to the same stuff that worked in 2005, 2006, 2007 and so on.  In other words, a lot of the basic things have been pretty consistent.

Search Engine Marketing – Past, Present and Future

1997 – 1999 were the early years of search engine era. Internet Marketing and more specifically search engine marketing mainly consisted of submitting your sites to the search engines.

These “voices from the past” are still heard today when this or that Search Engine Optimization company and / or automatic submitting software will claim to do search engine promotion for you by submitting your site to hundreds and thousands engines and directories.

The search engines’ indexing programs, called “robots” or “spiders”, looked through all of the HTML code of a page and used some page ranking algorithms that they kept in secret.

Those days were spammers’ Heaven: it was rather easy to get your site ranked high. You could just use your keywords lots of times on the page, in the META tags, HTML comments etc. and hide it from the human visitors by making the text tiny or completely invisible with the help of HTML tricks.
